    The Rise of the Roman Empire Dynamic History Map, can be used in 2 ways:

    1. Presentation Mode:

    Fig. 1 The first frame shows the map of Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 500BC. The Persians, Carthaginians, Etrusancs and Greeks have large civilizations which are influencing the situation and sowing the seeds in which Rome springs from.
    Fig. 2 shows the final scene, which has animated over a series of frames to provide pupils with a visual overview of how the Empire rose.

    Teachers Notes provide a crib for the maps explaining what was happening in each frame. 

    2. Depth Study Mode

    Fig. 3 shows 'information points' and related information boxes. These give a new dimension to the product, allowing students to interact with the map to bring up information at specific places or years. Information in the boxes includes the influences from other civilizations leading to the formation of Rome, key battles, influential people, the impacts of expansion, internal conflicts and much more.
    Fig. 4 shows images, helping students to get more of an idea of scenes that were occuring.
